Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Setup and Support

Local setup help for your HYPER IT wireless CarPlay and Android Auto adapter. Most first-time connections take about 30 seconds once your car and phone are ready.

Before you start

  • Your car or aftermarket head unit must already open Apple CarPlay or Android Auto through a cable.
  • Use the vehicle's data USB port—the same port that currently launches wired CarPlay or Android Auto.
  • Keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi switched on during setup and park safely before pairing.

First-time setup

  1. Start the vehicle and wait for the infotainment screen to load.
  2. Plug the HYPER IT adapter into the car's CarPlay or Android Auto USB port. Use the included USB-C converter if your vehicle has a USB-C port.
  3. Open Bluetooth on your phone and select the adapter when it appears.
  4. Accept the CarPlay or Android Auto prompts on your phone and vehicle screen. Leave Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled.

After the first pairing, the adapter is designed to reconnect automatically on later drives. Connection time can vary by vehicle and phone.

If it does not connect

Nothing appears on the screen

  • Confirm that the same USB port works with wired CarPlay or Android Auto.
  • Remove the adapter for 10 seconds, restart the vehicle screen, and reconnect it.
  • Try the other data-capable USB port if the vehicle has more than one.

The phone paired, but CarPlay or Android Auto did not open

  • Check that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on.
  • Delete the old adapter pairing from the phone and vehicle, then pair again.
  • Temporarily disconnect other phones that may be trying to connect first.

It disconnects during a drive

  • Restart the phone and vehicle infotainment system.
  • Disable battery-saving restrictions for Android Auto on Android phones.
  • Remove competing Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connections and test again.
