The HYPER IT adapter is designed to convert an existing wired Apple CarPlay or wired Android Auto connection into a wireless one. Follow this guide while the vehicle is safely parked.
Before pairing
- Test that wired CarPlay or Android Auto already works in the vehicle.
- Switch on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the phone.
- Disconnect other phones that may automatically connect to the car first.
Setup in four steps
- Start the car. Wait for the infotainment screen to finish loading.
- Plug in the adapter. Use the same data USB port that launches wired CarPlay or Android Auto. Use the included USB-C converter when required.
- Pair the phone. Open Bluetooth settings and select the adapter name shown on the vehicle screen or manual.
- Approve the prompts. Allow CarPlay or Android Auto and keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled.
Most first-time setups take about 30 seconds once the vehicle and phone are ready. Later reconnections are automatic when the phone, vehicle and adapter are available.
Quick fixes
- No device appears: reconnect the adapter and confirm you are using a data-capable USB port.
- It paired but did not open: remove the pairing from both the phone and vehicle, restart both systems, then pair again.
- The wrong phone connects: temporarily disable Bluetooth on the other phone or remove its old pairing.
- Android disconnects: confirm Android Auto is allowed to run without battery-saving restrictions.
Compatibility comes first
If the wired test does not open CarPlay or Android Auto, stop there—the adapter cannot add the missing feature. Use the Vehicle Compatibility Checker or ask HYPER IT to verify your car before ordering.
