What it can—and cannot—do
The adapter converts a working wired connection to wireless. It cannot install CarPlay or Android Auto in a vehicle that does not already have the system.
- The vehicle or aftermarket head unit must already launch wired CarPlay or Android Auto through USB.
- The phone must support the matching system.
- The chosen USB port must carry infotainment data, not charging power only.
- Supported touchscreen, steering-wheel, control-knob and voice functions normally remain available through the original system.
Check compatibility before buying
